A turizmus összeköt (Tourism Connects)
The aim of the small project was to strengthen Slovak–Hungarian cross-border cooperation in tourism, present the results of previous development activities, and establish new professional partnerships. The project contributed to the development of tourism in the Szigetköz–Žitný ostrov region and the preparation of future joint programmes.
On 27 November 2025, an all-day professional conference, workshop and partner meeting titled “Tourism Connects” was held at the Community Centre of Győr-Moson-Sopron County. The programme also included interactive workshops, including sessions on the use of AI-based tourism marketing tools. Participants also attended inspirational Pecha Kucha presentations featuring young tourism professionals. A “tourism market” formed part of the event, providing an opportunity for local producers and artisans to present their products and for the promotion of tourism publications; the cultural programme was enriched by a traditional folk dance performance. The event offered networking and presentation opportunities for tourism professionals from both Hungary and Slovakia, municipal staff, entrepreneurs, university students, influencers and developers. A total of approximately 130 participants attended, including more than 58 participants from Slovakia, among them visitors, exhibitors and speakers. As part of the event, the Szigetköz Nature Park Association, the Association of Towns and Villages of the Žitný ostrov, and the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Council signed a long-term cooperation agreement on the development of active and eco-tourism.
