Kemence Konferencia (Kemence Conference)
The aim of the two-day Kemence Conference in Komárom – attended by approximately 70 participants, including representatives of the partner, the Association of Towns and Municipalities of Žitný ostrov, as well as local government officials, members of civil society organisations and experts – was to strengthen cooperation between municipalities and civil organisations operating on both sides of the border and to develop community relations. The conference comprised four main programme elements: presentations showcased the activities of the partner organisations; discussions supported the enhancement of cooperation between municipalities and civil organisations and promoted civic participation within the EU; cultural presentations introduced Hungarian and Slovak traditions; the partnership meeting established the framework for future collaboration and the signing of memoranda of cooperation. The conference contributed to strengthening the region’s identity and cohesion, deepened intercultural dialogue, and laid the foundation for long-term cross-border cooperation.
