Családi nap (Family Day)
The small project “ XI. Szőnyi Kemencés Családi Nap” (XI. Family Day Kemence in Szőny)
held in Komárom (HU) within the framework of cross-border cooperation between the
Kemence Egyesület (Kemence Association) and the Municipality of Komoča (SK). The
programme aimed to strengthen Hungarian–Slovak partnership, showcase shared cultural and
gastronomic traditions, and connect families and local communities. The all-day event
featured community and professional elements, including introductory presentations, an
exhibition of local values, cooking and baking competitions, cultural and children’s
programmes, as well as an EU-themed seminar and a partnership meeting. The small project
directly involved 66 Slovak guests and reached a total of nearly 800 participants, engaging
multiple generations from both sides of the border.
