Cooperation and culture
The small project “Cooperation and Culture – Hagyományok találkozása Szilban“ (Meeting
of Traditions in Szil) aimed to strengthen cross-border cooperation among four partner
municipalities – Szil, Öttevény, Dunasápújfalu (HU) and Jelka (SK) – through cultural,
community, and awareness-raising programmes. The programmes included municipal
presentations, a sightseeing tour of local landmarks, competitions, an art exhibition, a
Hungarian–Slovak cultural showcase, traditional children’s and family activities, as well as
educational lectures on the European Union and civil society workshops. A total of 300
participants took part in the small project, including 100 guests from Slovak partner
municipalities. The event supported community building, the presentation of cultural values,
and the promotion of European civic awareness.
