The Monitoring Committee for the Small Project Fund of the Rába-Dunaj-Váh European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation with Limited Liability has approved the documents for the Call for Proposals under the Small Project Fund, and the 1st round of the Call for Proposals will accordingly be launched on 1 September 2026, in parallel with the eastern programme area.

The Small Project Fund is implemented under Priority Axis 3 “PA3-Institutional Cooperation” of the Interreg Hungary-Slovakia programme. Under measure “3.2 – Building mutual trust”, support will be provided for the implementation of cross-border programmes run by local authorities, non-governmental and non-profit organisations representing local authorities, and public institutions owned or administered by local authorities from 7 eligible regions in the western programme area (in Hungary: the Capital City of Budapest, Pest County, Komárom-Esztergom County and Győr-Moson-Sopron County; in Slovakia: the Bratislava, Trnava and Nitra self-governing regions). Applicants and foreign partners must have their registered seat within the programme area; a cross-border partnership may be formed by partners registered in any of the regions of the western and eastern programme areas.

The current call draws on experience gained during previous calls and on identified needs.

The amount of funding available from the European Regional Development Fund under the 1st round of the Call is EUR 1,500,000. Applicants may apply for support ranging from EUR 8,455 to EUR 33,830.

The aim of the Small Project Fund is to support cooperation between local governments, non-governmental and non-profit organisations operating on both sides of the border, to promote personal meetings and the exchanges of ideas between citizens living in the border region, and to strengthen the sense of European identity and belonging.

Support is provided for organising joint town and village days, joint historical commemoration days, tradition days, and public programmes linked to European Cooperation Day, which connect and strengthen partnership relations between representatives and members of organisations on both sides of the border.

The Call for Proposals will be published on the website (www.spf-west.eu) of the Interreg HUSK Small Project Fund for the western programme area. Detailed information will be provided at the Information Days.
